Holiday Bodies – Part of the Holiday Experience

Poolside PeopleOne of the biggest appeals when choosing a holiday destination is water. You do your research and you always want to know how far you are from the beach, scurry through Google image checking how blue the sea is, making sure there’s a pool at the hotel, what the distance is from the pool to your room, is there a poolside bar etc. etc.

Once you’ve booked in your perfect accommodation (which is ideally an ocean side room with a humongous pool bigger than the Hudson River) then you have to admit that the next think you start looking at is your body.

Everyone does it! It hits you that there will be moments that you’re going to be standing half naked in your dream holiday, and so you stare at yourself in the mirror criticizing what is staring back at you and then you hurriedly start planning out a 4 week diet plan, scowering the Internet…

Indulge, is a travel agency that wants to inject this philosophy into our holidayers. What use is stepping out into the world, travelling thousands of miles if you’re not going to take anything out of it. If you’re going to step into another country willingly, and you feel like you are in entirely different world, then truly experience it.

Coachella 2013

Who can remember their Facebook’s and Twitter feeds getting slammed by this epic performance at Coachella in California earlier this year?

Coachella is a legendary event in itself but this year they stepped it up to a level unimaginable; they legitimized the spirit of Tupac on stage.

Back form the dead, the Legendary Tupac was brought to life via Hologram to perform with the one and only Snoop Dogg! I can’t even imagine the incredible trip out the crowed was feeling when Tupac was called on stage.

Coachella has set a standard for 2013 that must be reached, if not surpassed and Indulge is getting the British out there to experience it. Watch this space for details on how we will make this happen for you!

Yesterday, the LSR team attended the World Travel Market at the eXcel Centre in London and it was an amazing day. Lovers of traveling, holidaying, escaping and the travel industry filled the arena.There was too much to be seen and absorb in one day (it is a 4 day event to be fair, but who has the time).

One of the most interesting pieces of information that I took away, was from Dr Auliana Poon who is the Director of Tourism Intelligence International. She is an amazing speaker and brought to my attention just how much the travel industry has been radically transformed and continues to transform because of technological developments. There is now a new ‘type’ of traveler, nicknamed the BoBo which stands for Bohemian Bourgeois. This traveler has come about because of unlimited and insurmountable amounts of information readily accessible to the public through the internet.

You are a BoBo if you are ‘geek chic.’ You love luxury holidays, you Indulge in the best of the best but you also have a conscience. You don’t throw your money around, you know it’s value. You know what you want, and you want it to be Indulgent, lush and of high quality. But, you also want your purchases to be environmentally friendly or you want your suppliers to have a social conscience and be affiliated with charities, to have strong morals and ethics or to be humanitarians. These factors play a very real role in the way that people travel, who they travel with and where they travel to.

At Indulge, we have always known that travelling and holidays are not only about your flights and hotels. I’ve never been one to thrill seek, but look at how much these guys are absolutely loving life on their one week long adventure of skydiving in ‘…one of the most beautiful drop zones in the world.’

Are You Insane Or What?

Insanity means “Knowing what you are doing is completely idiotic, but still, somehow you just can’t stop it!”

The Insanity ride at the Stratosphere in Las Vegas is the 2nd highest thrill ride in the world. It spins at 40 miles an hour at almost 300 meters about the ground.

I’m about to pass out at the thought of getting on this ride but I swear, after watching this video, it has to be done on my next Vegas trip.
